    \ Convention News / \ Convention News / Hello everyone!! To start off with sorry for not posting sooner >.< SITACon was a big success thanks to everyone that came, thank you so much!!! We love you!!! A big thanks needs to go to the members of the MVCC anime and gamers club, without them we would not have been nearly as well done. So please show your appreciation by going to Noobiecon it should be a great time!! Support your Upstate New York Conventions!!! Go to NohCon this coming weekend March 2 - 4th!! We are currently in the works for the next SITACon so check in every so often and we will give details as soon as we have them. The forum and the emails will be down for a while because of all the spam that we are getting hit with and the forum will be a totally new experience when we get it back up which should be soon. Doors open at 7pm in Kunsela Hall (there will be signs on campus) Do not expect any updates to the website this weekend because… well… we’ll be busy. I look forward to seeing you there!! Corbin \ Convention News / Okay it is now two days before the convention!! So we thought we would give you a few details as far as the convention goes and everything. First we made a big decision, just recently, we changed the schedule of the buildings, mainly for liability and usefulness reasons. So the buildings are as follows Kunsela - 7 - 12midnight Friday Donovan - 7 - 2am Campus Center - 7 - 2am What this means simply is that unfotunately the gaming floor will not be open 24 hours as we had hoped, which does not mean that gaming can not go on in kunsela mind you but the actual “gaming floor” itself will be closed from 2am - 10am. This also means that we are having anime showing in the auditorium from midnight - 10am throughout the convention so that is a plus. For Volunteers: the volunteer training will be at 11pm on Friday and 11am on Saturday If you miss the first you, you have to be at the second one. You will be able to apply for a volunteer position at the registration table at the convention opening. Registration will open at 7pm and close at 10pm on Friday , Saturday it will be open at 10am and close at 8pm, Sunday it will open at 10am and will close at Noon. The registration table will be located at Kunsela in the main entrance (there will be signs so you can’t miss it). Registration must be done before anything else, so keep that in mind, if security finds you without a badge on you will be directed to the registration desk. Here is a preview of the schedule sorry but it is only available in excel format. If you don’t have excel, just download OpenOffice.Org as their FREE program can open the excel spreadsheet. Of course some things are bound to change. The schedule will not be in the program book itself but will be available at the registration table at all times during the convention. Other than that the convention will begin on 7pm so we look forward to seeing you!! Corbin \ Convention News / Pre-registration is over :-( and good stuff :-) Pre-registration has ended as of Friday Sept 22. So online registration is no longer available. Did you get your pass? No?!?! It’s okay, don’t worry you can still get a three day pass at the registration table at the con as well as a one day pass, and we will be letting all you guys know where that is next week. Hence the Registration Page is updated so check that out. Speaking of that, SITACon itself is coming up really fast we only have a couple of weeks… literally a couple of weeks, Oct. 6th is coming very soon. Are you ready? Right now we’re working on a schedule so that we can post it up here for all of you. We did add a bunch of stuff for your viewing (and listening) pleasure. First we have another supporter of SITACon, AnimeNation is sending us some screeners for the convention, can’t wait to see those. And by now you probably have noticed on the right underneath the Convention banner is a podcast player!! Every Sunday we will update, for your own convience, our guest’s podcasts right in one place! If you push the play button (the > button) it will play the promo that Nightshift Podcast did for SITACon. The real highlight of the player is that if you push the up arrow (the ^ button right of the button with the “i” on it) it opens up a stand alone window so that you can play the podcasts while going to ANY website. The weird thing about it is that for some reason Internet Explorer is the ONLY web browser that does not show the player. Every other web browser will display it and play the podcast without a problem but for some reason IE refuses to do anything with it… don’t know why. So our apologies and again we reccomend you get a browser other than IE, but again the choice is yours. We look forward to seeing you at SITACon!! Corbin \ Convention News, Guests News / 4 new guests announced and a little swag Hello everyone as the convention is nearing we have some announcements as far as guest confirmations go. We have FOUR… that’s 4 new guests lined up to attend the convention, They’re the people from GeekNights, Fast Karate for the Gentlemen, Nightshift Podcast, and the Happy House of Hentai. All of them are going to be doing some pretty cool things at the convention. Head on over to the Guests Page to check them out and show a little love by clicking on the links to go to their webpages and listen to their podcasts!! Next we have a little annoucement about some stuff to give away!! At the convention’s events (game shows, masquerade, you know… the fun stuff) we will have some prizes provided by Broccoli International and ADV they’ve provided some pretty cool things to give away as prizes!! Want to know what they are?? Too bad you’ll have to wait and see at the convention. Let’s just say the boxes we recieved were pretty heavy ^_^. One other thing worth noting is that unfortunately the LARP at the convention will be cancelled because the person who was running it got a little too busy at work and will not be able to continue for the LARP this year. Also for all of you podcasting fans that like to hear my voice :-p Aaron had an interview with me about the convention on his latest show for Weekly Anime Review!! Other than that, The closing date to pre-register is almost upon us. So get those order’s in!! We like to give you a cheaper price!! The rates for advertising in the program book and inserts are located on the Press page so if you’d like to advertise with SITACon you are more than welcome too. No Comments »\ Convention News, Guests News / New Guests Announced and public Service Announcement First we would like to announce that we have confirmed a new guest coming to SITACon (he’s been to many game conventions, including performing at E3, and this will be his second ever performance at an anime convention), which we are very proud to share with you all the appearance of Martin Leung - the Video Game Pianist. One of the first in the United States and also the world to start playing Video Game Music on the piano Martin is amazing at what he does, and we are very exited to have him perform at SITACon. -edit 8/26/2006- Second we would like to announce yet another guest that will be appearing at SITACon. Aaron and Diana from the Weekly Anime Review podcast !!! Aaron was one of the first anime podcasts in the United States. If you notice in our press release we said a little thing about embracing podcasts well here’s what we mean ^_^. Hopefully we will be getting more podcasters as guest and who knows you may see something special at the con *wink wink* Take a look over at our guest page we said we would have some announcements there and we meant it. Third, we have added yet another game to the gaming floor, a new one called Clout Fantasy. Don’t know what it is?? Check out the short description on the Events Page, and of course you can always demo it at the convention on the gaming floor. Also, we would like you all to know that the site is best viewed not on Internet Explorer. We suggest you download Firefox it is one of the most secure browsers and one of the easiest to use on any platform. If you don’t download it, we suggest something other than Internet Explorer.
